Join celebrated author Nicole Kear for lunch and a book signing at a Vision Loss Resources event on April 7 in Golden Valley.
Kear, who wrote on xoJane.com about what a “colossal pain” it is to be legally blind, will talk about her book Now I See You, the story of how a diagnosis of retinitis pigmentosa shook her young world and how she shook her fist right back at it.
You may have heard Minnesota Public Radio’s Kerri Miller interview Kear. And you may have read the New York Times book review, which she quotes on her website: “A frightening diagnosis is only the start of the story […] ‘Now I See You’ is a funny, sassy, yet poignant story.”
Come to meet the author, enjoy her wit, the camaraderie, music and great food. The cost is $30, and includes the luncheon and book signing. The event runs 11 a.m.-1p.m. at the Golden Valley Golf and Country Club.
